Early Morning Fire Destroys Garage

CAFD Battalion 2, Engines 2, 21, 31, and Tower 1 responded to an early morning report of a garage on fire at 2202 Carlton Avenue.  Upon arrival units found a fully involved garage with extension to the nearby home.  Battalion 2 entered the residence and evacuated three sleeping individuals from the home.  E2 began suppression operations on the residence and garage, with E31 protecting a second involved exposure to the South side of the property.  Tower 1 and E21 assisted with suppression and overhaul of the fire extending into the primary residence.

The garage, along with two vehicles, was a total loss.  The home was vented and overhauled and received minor fire damage.  No injuries were reported and Fire Investigation staff was requested to begin cause determination.
