Late Night Kitchen Fire Damages Home

CAFD crews responded to a call of smoke in the home at 2110 Kelly avenue at 12:04 am on Sunday morning.  Upon arrival units found light smoke coming from the front of the home and fire venting from a kitchen window at the rear of the home.  Firefighters stretched handlines and rapidly extinguished the fire.  There was heavy fire damage to the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the home. 

The occupant was awaken by a smoke detector and exited through the front door of the home.  Crews were on scene for approximately two hours.
