First Strike Safety Solutions is a full service training and emergency stand-by provider for Technical Rescue serving the public safety and industrial communities.  First Strike is the primary instructional agency for the CAFD Combined Technical Rescue Team, and has provided ongoing instruction and equipment to the CAFD during our rescue teams start-up period.  First Strike also provides our annual training and third-party competency review.

Sappi - Cloquet has partnered with the Cloquet Area Fire District by providing training classes, and access to their facilities to conduct training for the CAFD combined Technical Rescue Team (TRT).  The CAFD TRT has conducted Confined Space and High Level Rescue evolutions in the acutal industrial environment of the Sappi facility.  The ability to conduct Confined Space Rescue and Rope Rescue training in an operating industrial environment allows our staff to understand the hazards and variables present in the facilites that will receive these services.

Sappi and the Cloquet Area Fire District have also partnered to provide a coordinated response to hazardous materials incidents on Sappi property.  Through joint training and drills provided by Sappi, the CAFD is better prepared to respond to all hazardous materials incidents throughout our district.

Cars Towing & Hwy 210 Auto Parts have partnered with the Cloquet Area Fire District to provide vehicles for auto extrication training.  Cars Towing delivers and removes the vehicles after our staff conducts comprehenisve training evolutions in the areas of vehicle construction, patient safety, and victim extrication. 

This training is critical to our staff in order to deal with the numerous vehicle accidents that our units respond to on a monthly basis.  Cars Towing & Hwy 210 Auto Parts have donated numerous vehicles each year for the past ten years.
